Biothane has become a favourite material among trainers and working dog handlers, and it is easy to see why. It is a polyester webbing coated in a tough, flexible polymer, giving it the strength of a traditional lead with none of the drawbacks. It will not soak up water, rot, crack or hold on to mud and odours, so a quick wipe or rinse is all it takes to keep it looking and smelling fresh.
That makes biothane leads ideal for wet and muddy walks, beach and water work, tracking and everyday training where a fabric lead would quickly become heavy, slippery or tired. The smooth finish is comfortable in the hand, stays flexible in cold weather and keeps its shape and strength over years of hard use.
